The weather has been really weird today. Sunny then rain, then sun then rain. Well you get the idea. |

I have given up Coca-cola for Lent. I must be mad. I have actually managed it so far, I have noticed that other drinks do exist in the universe. ^_^ |

| Five things on my mind |
[Feb. 9th, 2009|10:28 pm] |
1. It rained today. Rained and rained and rained. no snow though. *sigh* 2. The pictures on the news of Australia are awful. It almost doesn't look real seeing things like cars burnt out in the middle of the road and whole communities destroyed. I can't wrap my mind around people setting fires like that on purpose. 3. My brother is thinking of moving out and renting a place with his friends. My little brother might be moving out before I do. I can't imagine moving out, although sometimes I think it would be nice to not be around my family so much. I mean to have my own space sounds kind of nice. But I'm can't see it happening anytime soon. 4. I love technology and all the little gadgets and stuff that are available. I remember growing up every new thing made me think we were getting closer and closer to living like we were on Star Trek which I thought was very cool. But my first instinct isn't to use that new tech. I have a thought and I want to write it down on paper before I want to post it online. I want to find something out and my first thought is the library not wikipedia. I still don't have an mp3 player of any kind. Weird. 5. I need to stop drinking so much coke.

| Torchwood Squee |
[Feb. 6th, 2009|10:29 pm] |
Be not afraid, no spoilers here.
I just saw the trailer for new Torchwood and wow. I am really looking forward to it. I've already watched it a half dozen times. I'm pausing continuously to try and get a better look at things.
Eeeeeeeeeeee!
If this was Doctor Who my family would be excited too but although my mum watches Torchwood with me I'm the only one who really likes it. |

| Pyra Update |
[Jan. 28th, 2009|01:33 am] |
I'm continuing to tidy my room. The budget at work is low as it's getting close to the end of the financial year so there aren't as many overtime hours available. Still I figure I'll make use of this time while I've got it. I'm sorting through my clothes at the moment and it's really hard. All the clothes I really like are the items that totally don't fit anymore. I found this one sleeveless t-shirt with a tiger on it that I adore but on the label it says it's for a fourteen yr old! I'm never fitting into that again. lol Why do kids get all the cool clothes?

| | Marit Larsen - If A Song Could Get Me You | ] | Today I was tidying my bedroom. This is an epic task. In recent months I've noticed that I can't actually see my floor. :( I have a teeny path from my bed to the door but enough is enough. I have WAY TOO MUCH stuff! So I'm trying to make some hard choices and get rid of some of my possessions before I become one of those people you hear about on the news that get crushed by their things. I have decided on four categories that I am keeping for definite:- my bear collection
- my star trek/doctor who/firefly collections
- my creative writing/diaries
- things I NEED like my clock, lamp etc...
Everything else I need to seriously think about whether I need or even use it anymore.
So far today I've got a bunch of stuff that I'm going to give to the local Oxfam shop and to my mum's parish church for their fundraising sale. A couple of Barbie dolls, some Snoopy figurines from McDonalds, a whole bunch of bags and purses, a couple of Beyblades, a bow and some arrows and some other random stuff. These are the easy things to part with though and I've not made a huge dent in what I own. Now comes the really hard decisions.

| Inaugural Concert |
[Jan. 19th, 2009|10:07 pm] |
Not much going on at the moment. I keep forgeting it's 2009. I didn't make any resolutions as I always break them or forget what they were. ^_^
I watched the Obama concert yesterdy on SkyArts, I didn't even know that channel existed! I liked the performance by Garth Brooks (is that right? I don't think I've heard of him before) the best, he looked like he was having fun while the other peformers and speakers mostly looked cold. ;) I wish Bono would shut up and just sing sometimes.
When Obama did his speech though I started crying! What's up with that?! I was just sitting there watching and I guess I got caught up in the moment. Gordon Brown speaking has never made me cry! lol |
